Now we have purchased this and; we are pretty confident it will last long. Its been installed since last 4 weeks and its working smooth till date. I installed this for a customer who had a conventional bath mixer but wanted a shower without disrupting decoration or tiling in her bathroom. Simply removed the old mixer and installed this. This also appealed as it is fitted with a thermostat controlling the water temperature. My customer was happy and I would certainly install this again.

Simon Asked :

Does this shut off the cold completely to run just the hot

Answered By QS Team Answered by the QS Technical Team

This mixer is thermostatic. This means that hot and cold water mixes within a certain temperature range before leaving the tap. This is for health and safety reasons, meaning the shower will never run, just very warm or cold.

Paul Asked :

Can the hot/cold inlets be changed over on this tap, as ours are hot left and cold on right?

Answered By QS Team Answered by the QS Technical Team

The inlet connections for the AR2 THBSM C need to be hot on the left and cold on the right when viewed from the front. They cannot be swapped round due to how the thermostat mixes the water.

Mike Asked :

In the highlight information/description of the Bristan Artisan Thermostatic Bath Shower Mixer Tap - AR2 THBSM it says the unit has a default setting of 38 degrees C to eliminate the selection of an unsafe temperature, which can be overridden by the user, my enquiry is this a simple procedure which the user can carry out easily? Thank you

Answered By Richard Answered by the verified purchaser Yes it's easy to do. The instructions detail how to do this. I had to alter the settings, it's not complicated.

Answered By Simon Answered by the verified purchaser You would think the vendor should answer this question! However, it is a simple procedure, the small button shown on the left side in the image hits an end stop at 38 deg, if it is depressed the temperature can be increased further as the tap head will rotate further past the stop

Answered By Amanda Answered by the verified purchaser Hi yes it is easy to do. We had to do it as the bath fill wasn't really hot enough I think there is a section in the instructions explaining how to do it but you take off the little cap on the tap handle the side of the hot/cold & turn the screw until you get the temperature you want, a little bit of trial & error but we did get ours quite a bit hotter & there was still room to go hotter.

Answered By Geoffrey Answered by the verified purchaser This tap is slightly different to the one I purchased but I have bought 3 over the last 3 years and they are all the same. You remove a grommet from the thermostat knob, undo a securing nut and move the knob around on a spline forwards or backwards to adjust then reattach the locking nut and grommet. It is fairly simple and not something someone could by accident such as a medley child. Hope that helps
