john Asked :The large lever is now so stiff it is hard to turn off fully. What is the problem?
If the handle is stiff, the cartridge either needs servicing or replacement. To service, remove the cartridge and soak it in a 50/50 solution of warm water and white vinegar to dissolve any limescale buildup. Then, replace.
Hilary Asked :Which Bristan shower hose/head and riser rail from the Bristan range fit OP-185602 - Chrome exposed shower valve bottom outlet, please?
Any Bristan range of riser kits will be compatible with this valve. It is also dependent on your preference of style and connection choice. The full range can be found on our website.
Ali Asked :Can this shower be used with a combi boiler? I have this model already installed but recently had a boiler replacement from a gravity-fed tank to combi. Now the shower doesn’t work. I was going to replace it with a different Bristan, but the pipe distance on the bar is only 150 cm, and 1901 is 153 cm; therefore, I need to replace it with a suitable native. Can you recommend the best replacement that would work with a combi boiler?
All of the Bristan showers are best suited for use with a combi boiler. Bristan shower valves have adjustable centres, and Bristan's larger valves have centres from 136-158mm; some suitable options would be: (1) 1901 - N2 CSHXVO C and (2) Prism – PM2 CSHXVO C.
Stephen Asked :Is there any way to improve the flow rate of water through this valve? Our shower is pumped using a Stuart Turner pump.
The shower comes with flow regulators fitted in the elbows, which can removed. We have attached the fitting instructions for the shower, which explains how to do this on page 10.
Bill Asked :Will the Bristan 1901 shower valve replace a Bristan TS1850 shower valve, i.e. the 1/2 threads on the 1901 screw onto the existing 1/2 male threads coming out from the wall?
You can likely replace this with 1901 N2 CSHXVO C. We recommend confirming this with your installer before purchasing, and you will need to ensure the pipe centres are the same and ensure you have enough exposed pipework for the new shower to fit onto.
Rhona Asked :Is this able to be connected to upright vertical exposed supply pipes? I.e. do the side connectors rotate 90 degrees?
We can confirm that the N2 CSHXVO C has inlet pipes that can be installed from the top, bottom or rear.
jo Asked :I cannot get an all-cold shower. Is there an adjustment that can be made to the tap?
We can confirm that all of our showers are factory set to a certain temperature; however, this can be adjusted if needed. See the attached fitting instructions, page 20; there is a section about adjusting the temperature. Please also check for blockages or limescale build-up affecting the temperature.
We will soon verify the details and add your rating appropriately.
