I decided to switch from a white composite sink to a stainless steel, hoping I could reduce the maintenance needed to keep it looking good. A week in, and we love the style. It is large and industrial. I will get used to it and have to, after cutting in a bigger hole in the countertop for installation and spending a lot of money, But a few things. It will instantly show marks, scratches and limescale stains. It is noisy (no sound-dampening). The position of the overflow (in both sinks) limits how I use them, and I can't fill them as high as I would like. The water beads on the surface, making the water drops more obvious than I would like (this may change over time). The sink is bigger than our previous one, and the plumbers had to cut a notch in the vertical support of the lower cabinet. I would recommend using taps with pull-out spray nozzle to reach the corners (since one is supposed to rinse off regularly). Although stock availability showed 6 days, it was dispatched the next day and caused a bit of concern because the plumber's visit needed to be before the 14-day return period and I had calculated that it would arrive later than it actually did. I'm not sure of the advantages of the hand-finish, brush-polished and lustrous-grained finish that are promoted. Top marks for style.
