Do the mixer taps move forwards when you use them to turn on and adjust the flow of the cold and hot tap mixer? Our tap cannot push back due to splashback.

The AQ2SS has a cold start valve, meaning the handle will not go backwards. The levers would only come forward on this tap. We would recommend installing the filter upright.
