jack Asked :What outlet size can this waste take, 40 or 50mm?
This waste takes a 40mm outlet pipe.
chloe Asked :How do you remove the waste cover to clean the trap?
The cap should lift off. You will then be able to get to it to clean it.
Lee Asked :Hello, I'm looking for a shower trap that screws together with a done cowl. The flange which sits on the shower tray is 90mm, but the threads with a screw to the trap are around 83mm. I have a picture of the threaded piece if required.
This is the only waste we offer with a dome cover. Please refer to the technical drawing provided in the product for additional information.
Jan Asked :We have purchased a Simpsons High Flow Shower Waste STHFW6190, which was installed a couple of weeks ago. The shower tray drainage has been slow when soap is used in the shower - when we test using just water, it seems okay. We have to stop the rain halfway through to allow it to drain. It is the soap which seems to cause problems. We have cleaned it after each shower removing any hairs, but there is still a problem. The drainage is much better when we remove the cup inside the waste. Can we leave the cup out, as the hairs are mainly caught in the other part of the waste?
You can leave the cup out if you wish, but we obviously cannot guarantee that there won’t be any hair that gets into the pipework. Soap shouldn’t be slowing your drainage down. Do you know or have any information anything about the pipework configuration underneath?
Julie Asked :I have had a Simpsons 1200 x 800 shower tray and a Simpsons high flow shower tray waste installed since the end of January this year. No leaks until last week. We have discovered it is coming from the waste so re-silicone it but still no joy. A leak is bad. Please, could you advise what it could be? It is not coming from the pipes below but the waste trap above.
The waste trap itself, in essence, is just a vessel for the water to flow through and is so simple in its design that faults are usually down to installation problems. In the meantime, please take a look at the troubleshooting waste guide, which you can download from the Additional Info tab of the product. Have a look and see if anything on there could be causing the issue.
Nick Asked :We seem to be having problems with bad smells entering the shower cubicles. STHFW6190 shower wastes have been fitted to the trays, but on closer inspection, these wastes are not traps. Is this correct, and therefore traps should have been fitted at some point on the waste system? Can you please confirm?
Please have a look at the attached image. There should be a cup inside the waste and a water seal on the bottom to prevent smells from returning up the waste pipe. Please also see the attached PDF file, which is a troubleshooting guide to fitting our wastes, please ensure these steps have been followed. For example, if flexi pipes have been used, soap can become clogged in the folds and rot, causing bad smells.
Angela Asked :Can I open the cover to clear the drain of residues?
Yes, the top will pop off, and there is a removable hair trap inside. Please refer to the installation instruction manual, which you can download from the Additional Info tab of the product
We will soon verify the details and add your rating appropriately.
