Crosswater Flip Top Slotted Basin Waste Chrome

I purchased this due to having nothing but problems with pop-top plugs. Having had to replace the bathroom basin's four times since 2012. I sort a more robust answer to the job. This unit does away with the need for seals around the plug and the plug lozenge itself is clearly of a weighty and very highly finished quality. This is held in the plug hole by the equally fine matching curved profile. So when you spin the plug into the hole there is a large mating surface area, which is able to "seal" without the need of flexible seals. The lozenge can be freely rotated within the hole and if required can be removed completely by turning while lightly pulling up, as there is a location point where the profile allows for it's removal. Thereby allowing through cleaning and the removal of any foreign objects. (Though if fitting in a public place, this wouldn't be ideal!) I am truly hoping that this will overcome the failings of the pop-top type and so far everybody is very pleased with it. But only time will tell for sure. Pop-tops I've found tend to come with a very soft thin seal which seem to be very easily damaged by the typical bathroom products used by people. This wouldn't be such a big issue IF you could source replacement seals easily, but there are a multitude of them and I never found anywhere local that had the right ones in stock. So it meant replacing the whole unit each time! Also over time they begin to suffer (at least in my home!) from sticking and jamming when closed. Why? It seems that the spring loaded plunger becomes coated with scale (I live in a soft water area as well! So this was totally unexpected!).
