Does this mean that when electing to have a bath rather than a shower, the bath is filled via the shower pump? Is this not a problem? Or should the inlets to the bath filler be fed separately, I.e. not via the shower pump?

If your pump is situated before your valve, both the bath and shower will be taken from the same feed, so when filling the bath it will be filled via the shower pump. I hope this helps.
