Ideal Standard Strada White Countertop Basin With 1 Taphole

Bought to replace an R2 (Roper Rhodes) basin that was so sloped the water kept spilling over the edges. We love the R2 Vanity Unity, so bought a piece of oak to act as a countertop, gave it several coats of water protection and got a plumber to fit the countertop and basin. Overall, I'm happy with the outcome (including the price and delivery from QS Supplies). My ion criterion was a single tap hole with overflow with as much depth as possible to hold the largest amount of water and NO SLOPING SIDES. This Ideal Standard Strada was the best I could find after many months of intermittent searching, but it doesn't hold much depth of water up to the overflow hole. I guess this is the price of having an overflow - in that there has to be space under the basin for the water to pass from the overflow to the drain hole, which reduces the depth of water in the basin. In my experience, it seems that the majority of new/modern basins are designed to look good, but they don't particularly well - unless all you want it for is washing your hands under a running tap.
